As Hurricane Sandy was starting to really Strike the Lehigh Valley Most Emergency communication centers started to get hit with numerous calls for assistance. One of the calls came from a home on Oakwood Dr in Whitehall Township where a Tree fell on the backside of a home trapping a female inside. Crews from the WFD worked in high winds and heavy rains to free the female from the home. Once freed she was treated for minor injuries and the residence was secured by contractors. This call was one of many that firefighters in Whitehall responded to during and after the storm struck the area.
