MCI Declared as 18 are Sent to Hospital in East Allen
In the morning hours of Sunday September 23rd emergency officials were dispatched to Trader Joes in East Allen for a CO Emergency. When crews arrived they had multiple employees that were feeling ill and high CO Readings in the building. The facility was immediately evacuated and a level 2 MCI was declared bringing EMS units all over Northampton and Lehigh Counties. In all 18 people were transported to local hospitals and crews remained on location until the source of the issue was located, it was determined to be caused by batteries on 5 forklifts in the facility.
